My parents recently bought a new house with just one problem.... the livingroom carpet reeks! Is there any way to get the smell of dog/cat urin out without ripping up the carpet? My mother has a very sensitive nose and she has tried every "odor-eliminating" product on the market!

Question by momof2: Does anyone know a home remedy for removing severe urine stains/odor from carpet?
We have a home with severe urine odor in the carpet and my husband does not want to replace the carpet at this time. UGH! Help me. Does anyone have a home remedy that works to get out the smell?

Question by Desiree: How do I get rid of dog odor in carpet?
Yesterday I picked up a Hoover carpet scrubber from my fiance's parents house. His brother hoisted it into the backseat of my car without emptying the dirty water from inside of it, hence it dripped onto my back seat, which now smells of dog hair and pee. I've tried everything from special carpet solutions to Febreeze but nothing has rid the odor. Help! It's unbearable for me to drive with the smell.
